WHO IS CARSON BECK?

Carson Beck is a senior quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs who led the back-to-back National Champions to a 12-1 record in his first season as a starter. Beck sat for three seasons behind Stetson Bennett, who led the Bulldogs to those back-to-back National Championships.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF BECK RETURNING TO GEORGIA

Beck’s return gives Georgia an experienced quarterback who won 12 games in his first year as a starter. He is familiar with the system being run by Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo so there will be no learning curve in 2024. One negative impact for Beck coming back to Georgia is the flip of commitment by five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola who committed to Nebraska on December 18, 2023. Raiola moved to Buford, GA to play high school football for his senior year as he was committed to the Bulldogs at that time. While his de-commitment from Georgia hurts, the fact that Beck is returning for his senior season takes away some of that sting.

BENEFITS FOR CARSON BECK TO RETURN TO GEORGIA

Returning to Georgia for his senior season should improve Beck’s draft position for 2025. He was projected to be a 2nd or 3rd-round pick had he decided to declare for the NFL Draft this season. However, the quarterback class for 2025 is not deep and Beck should be near or at the top of the list of quarterbacks to be drafted next year. The 6-foot-4-inch, 220-pounder threw for 3,738 yards with 22 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while completing 72.4% of his passes. Beck also rushed for four touchdowns.
