Purdue Boilermakers Announce Season Opener and Homecoming

The Big Ten Conference has revealed the kickoff times and TV assignments for Purdue Football’s season opener and Homecoming game.


These announcements on Thursday provided clarity for the start of the Boilermakers’ 2024 season. Kickoff times for the rest of Purdue's 2024 schedule will be announced 6-12 days before each game date.




Season Opener and Homecoming

Second-year coach Ryan Walters and the Boilermakers will kick off their 2024 season at noon EST, Aug. 31 against Indiana State on BTN. The homecoming game will take place at noon EST, Sept. 28 against Nebraska. This will be the 12th straight season the two teams have squared off on the gridiron. Purdue leads the series 7-5 with the Cornhuskers winning their most recent matchup 31-14 back in October 2023.



Purdue Early Season Schedule

Purdue now knows the kickoff times for its first four games:


·         Aug. 31: Season opener against Indiana State at 12 p.m. EST on BTN.

·         Sept. 14: Home game against Notre Dame at 3:30 p.m. EST on CBS.

·         Sept. 21: First road game against Oregon State with an 8:30 p.m. EST on the CW.

·         Sept. 28: Homecoming game against Nebraska at 12 p.m. EST.



Friday Night Matchups

Fox College Football is excited to announce its new Friday night series, featuring a package of elite college football games on Friday nights throughout the fall. This new initiative will showcase top matchups from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Mountain West conferences, providing fans with a thrilling and action-packed college football experience. Purdue will participate in two of these hotly anticipated games:

·          Oct. 18: Purdue hosts Oregon at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.

·          Nov. 22: Purdue travels to East Lansing to face Michigan State at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.


These announcements set the stage for an exciting season for the Boilermakers, featuring key matchups and prime-time appearances.
