Preview Virginia Tech vs NC State

This Saturday at Lane Stadium and Worsham Field, 12 seniors will suit up for their final game as Hokies. The Hokies have the opportunity to send the seniors out with a win and clench a bowl game birth. This would be huge for Brent Pry and the Hokies if they could get a bowl birth in year #2. The Hokies take on a tough NC State team led by a familiar QB in former UVA QB Brennen Armstrong.

What's at stake?

The Hokies have a chance to become bowl-eligible with a win this weekend. This is a winnable game for the Hokies, but they will have to have the same fire and intensity as they did last week at Boston College, where they played a near-perfect game. NC State comes into this game at 7-3 and 4-2 in the ACC. NC State is going to be a tough game for the Hokies. They match up pretty well in terms of talent on the field.

Key Players for Virginia Tech:

QB Kyron Drones must have another great game, so far this season he has thrown for over 1500 yards and 9 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions, and also has racked up over 500 yards on the ground.

RB: Bhayshul Tuten has really turned into a solid playmaker for the Hokies, he has over 600 yards on the ground to go with 7 touchdowns. What's most impressive is the 4.5-yard per-carry average.

Key Players: NC State

QB: Brennan Armstrong. He knows the Hokies well after playing them when he was QB at UVA. Also, Armstrong leads the Wolfpack in rushing as well.

Prediction:

The Hokies have performed well at home this year, I believe that will give them a slight advantage. However the Wolfpack will come to play, the last time, the Pack came to Lane Stadium was during the Covid year of 2020, and the Hokies dominated the Pack 48-21. That season the Hokies had a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. Honestly, I think this game is a coin flip for either team, in football the home team is good for 3 points extra with that being said the Hokies win with a late FG.
