Head coach Pat Narduzzi goes into his 10th year at Pitt, looking for some improvement. Over the past two seasons at the helm, Narduzzi's teams have gone 9-4 and 3-9. The Panthers finished with a bowl victory in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl 37-35 over UCLA in 2022, but then fell to 2-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference last season. Narduzzi and his Panthers' squad are looking for more consistency going into Year 10.

Pitt and Cincinnati have met 13 times in their history of the River City Rivalry. The last time these two teams met, it was in Pittsburgh and the Bearcats won 27-21.
Last season, the bearcats finished 3-9 overall and they also will not be much better in 2024. Pitt will win this game pretty convincingly.

Week 3: West Virginia Mountaineers
Pitt and West Virginia have met 91 times in their history of the Backyard Brawl. The last time these two teams met, it was in Morgantown, W. Va., and the Mountaineers won 17-6.
The Panthers will win this game. It will be a tough road environment for the Mountaineers, but it will be a seriously close game.

Week 4: Youngstown State
Pitt and Youngstown State have met five times in their history. The last time these two teams met, it was on Sep. 2, 2017, and the Panthers won 28-21.
The Panthers will win this game. Youngstown State is an FCS team and Pitt usually has no problems with FCS teams, no matter the opponent.

Week 5: at North Carolina Tar Heels
Pitt and North Carolina have met 17 times in their history. The last time these two teams met, it was on Sep. 23, 2023, and the Tar Heels won 41-24.
Pitt will lose this game, and it will not be close. The Tar Heels have had success against the Panthers in their history and will continue in 2024.

Week 6: Cal Golden Bears
Pitt and Cal have met five times in their history. The last time these two teams met, it was on Oct. 1, 1966, and the Golden Bears won 30-15.
Pitt will lose this game by a close margin. Cal is more of a new opponent to the Panthers but will win this one on the road.

Week 7: Syracuse Orange
Pitt and Syracuse have met 76 times in their history. The last time these two teams met, it was on Nov. 11, 2023, with the Orange winning 28-13. Pitt will get the better of the Orange this time around and win this game.

Week 8: at SMU Mustangs
Pitt and SMU have met six times with Mustangs holding a 3-2-1 advantage in the all-time series. The last time these two teams met was on Jan. 7, 2012, and the Mustangs won 28-6.
History will repeat itself here and SMU quarterback Preston Stone will have a field day against the Pitt defense.

Pitt and Virginia have met 14 times in their history. The last time these two teams met, it was on Nov. 12, 2022, and the Panthers won 37-7. History will repeat itself in this one and the Panthers will be victorious.

Week 10: Clemson Tigers
Pitt and Clemson have met five times in their history. The last time these two teams met, it was on Oct. 23, 2021, and the Panthers came out victorious 27-17.
Pitt will come up short in this one. Dabo Swinney is a good coach, and he gets a lot of good recruits, and will come out victorious in this one.

Week 11: at Louisville Cardinals
Pitt and Louisville have met 20 times in their history. The last time these two teams met, it was on Oct. 14, 2023, and the Panthers won 38-21.
The Cardinals really haven't been all that good since the Lamar Jackson days. Pitt will win this game.

Week 12: at Boston College Eagles
Pitt and Boston College have met 33 times in their history. The last time these two teams met, it was on Nov. 16, 2023, and the Panthers won 24-16.
Boston College has struggled in recent years, so Pitt should run away with this game.

Pitt Overview
The Panthers will bounce back from an abysmal 2023 season and finish 8-4 in 2024 and qualify for a bowl game. The improvement Narduzzi was looking for, happened and the season will be a success.
