Kentucky (2-2) welcomed the Ohio Bobcats (2-2) to Kroger Field in Lexington, Ky., on Sept. 21 and beat them in dominating fashion 41-6. This was a much-needed win for the Wildcats, who lost back-to-back games before facing the Bobcats.
Kentucky Dominates Bobcats
The Wildcats had their best offensive performance of the season against the Bobcats. They were balanced in their attack. putting up a total of 488 yards. Kentucky had 282 yards coming through the air and 206 on the ground.
Quarterback Brock Vandagriff had a good day, completing 17 of his 24 pass attempts for 237 yards. Jamarion Wilcox led the ground attack with 82 yards and Dane Key led receivers with 7 catches for 145 yards.
The Kentucky defense played a solid game, holding the Bobcats to 6 points and 223 total yards. The Wildcats' defense also recovered a fumble and recorded a Pick-6 against Ohio.
Turning Point
Kentucky scored its first touchdown to start the second quarter, giving the Wildcats a 10-0 lead. The Bobcats, in their subsequent drive, drove down the field to the UK 5-yard line before losing a fumble to the Wildcats.
The Wildcats scored after the turnover, extending their lead to 17-0. Kentucky continued to roll for the remainder of the game, scoring on 3 of their remaining 4 drives.
Looking Ahead: Kentucky
Kentucky did exactly what it needed to do against the Bobcats and this win will help build the team's confidence moving forward. If the Wildcats' offense can continue to perform like it did against the Bobcats, the future looks a lot brighter for UK than it did a week ago.

While this was not the best performance from the Bobcats, this loss doesn't eliminate them from completing their season goals. With the start of conference play looming, the Bobcats need to put this game behind them and focus on the schedule ahead.
