WHO IS ELI BOWEN

Eli Bowen is a four-star CB from Denton Guyer High School in Denton, TX. The 5-foot-10-inch, 170-pound speedster committed to Oklahoma over Texas and Notre Dame. Eli, the younger brother of five-star Oklahoma freshman DB Peyton Bowen, also runs track at Denton Guyer where he was clocked at 11.18 seconds in the 100 Meter Dash.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF THE COMMITMENT FOR OKLAHOMA

Bowen gives the Sooners nine 4-star commits for the class of 2024 and is their second CB commit. Oklahoma has the 16th-ranked recruiting class according to On3 Sports and the 15th-best class per 247Sports.

HOW QUICKLY CAN ELI BOWEN CONTRIBUTE AT OKLAHOMA?

Since the 2023 season, Oklahoma has lost five of their top seven CBs. There are also two seniors on the two-deep roster. The chances are high that Bowen can get some playing time in 2024 with that kind of roster turnover.

SCOUTING ELI BOWEN

Eli Bowen is fast, very fast! He uses his speed well to get in position to make a play on the ball. Bowen rarely gets outrun, so he is good at getting his head around to find the ball. He is a good tackler and gets to outside run plays quickly. Has good hands as evidenced by his 10 interceptions in his sophomore season. Had two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his junior season. Had one defensive touchdown and one punt return touchdown in his junior season.
