2023 PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS SCHEDULE & PREDICTIONS

Penn State comes into the 2023 season looking to break through the Big Ten Kings of the East, Ohio State and Michigan, while also looking to earn the program’s first College Football Playoff spot.

The Nittany Lions return a stacked roster with the only question coming at the quarterback position. Is Drew Allar as good as advertised?

Below is the 2023 Penn State schedule and a prediction for each game

9/2 vs West Virginia - Win

A former rival, Penn State hasn’t played West Virginia since 1992. WVU is still struggling under head coach Neal Brown, and I think the Lions come out of the opener with the W.

9/9 vs Delaware - Win

Delaware is an FCS team who Penn State should have no trouble with.

9/16 vs @ Illinois - Win

The first road test will be a tough one as Brett Bielema’s teams are physical. The Nittany Lions, though, have the talent to punch back and will come out of Champaign still undefeated.

9/23 Iowa- Win

The 2023 White Out game. The Iowa defense is very good, but their offense still sputters. This feels like a hard-fought 17-13 type of game, which will end in Penn State’s favor.

9/30 @ Northwestern - Win

The Wildcats are one of the worst programs in the country. This shouldn’t be much of a problem on the road for Penn State.

10/14 vs UMass - Win

UMass is another FBS Independent team - and one of the worst programs in the country. This game should be a Penn State blow out win as they prepare for the Buckeyes.

10/21 @ Ohio State - Loss

This should be an incredible game. Both teams are replacing long time veteran quarterbacks, and both replacements should be clicking by the time this game rolls around.

This will be a tough outing for the Lions, and unfortunately I see Ohio State pushing Penn State into the loss column for the first time this season.

10/28 vs Indiana - Win

The Hoosiers are not a good team on either side of the ball, and the Lions will win big.

11/4 @ Maryland - Win

The game is at Maryland, but Penn State fans will make it feel like a home game for the Lions. Maryland is improving and is dangerous on offense, but I don’t think the Terrapins have the weapons to beat Penn State.

11/11 vs Michigan - Win

This may be the most expensive ticket in the country for the 2023 season. Both rosters have top talent. I’m giving the edge to the Penn State in an emotional upset, despite James Franklin’s 3-5 record against Michigan.

11/18 vs Rutgers - Win

Senior day will be a romp of a hapless Scarlett Knights team looking to just end the season. Not much trouble here.

11/25 @ Michigan State - Win

The Lions’ season will close with a win in East Lansing. The Spartans will keep it close early, but Penn State will pull away in the fourth quarter.

Final season record: 11-1

I foresee the Nittany Lions finishing the 2023 regular season in a three-way tie with Ohio State and Michigan, each being 11-1. Penn State will either get their first ever College Football Playoff appearance or they will, yet again, head to a New Year's 6 Bowl Game.

My prediction is Penn State will be left out of the playoff and compete in a New Year's 6 Bowl.

"Fight on State!!”
